Thank you for the tips. That's been my problem. I can't run the dishwasher and I can't wash clothes when there's no power and of course it gets really hot. It's just an inconvenience.

Also very bad for your appliances especially the air conditioner. Turn all units off until power stabilizes. Leave a lamp on and the most you'll have to replace is a light bulb. I learned this the hard way way when a news refrigerator was toast due to power surges
