QueenB: well I didn't know I'm sorry
interesting. How do you know whether you walked into the "ER" part or the urgent care part?
I don't have any experience with the imaging center there as a separate facility, but I do know that center has an emergency room, as well as regular medical offices. One of my son's doctors is located there, and we have also used the emergency room. If MH is in-network with your insurance, I highly recommend this ER. I brought my son there a couple years back for abdominal pain, and it turned out he needed an emergency appendectomy. They needed to transfer him to the main MH in Humble, but they got him started on IV antibiotics and pain meds and let him rest comfortably in the bed while an ambulance waited outside. Once they were notified that they had a room ready for him at the main hospital, they transferred him there. Because they are part of MH, you are only charged for one admission if you have to be transferred. Highly recommend!

FYI- Memorial Hermann Kingwood is way expensive!! Down by HEB in the back, it calls itself a "Convenient Care Center" but they are actually an emergency room and they charge emergency room prices. DH's chiropractor wanted him to have a simple x-ray of an ankle, we scheduled it a week ago, and the charge today was over $1000. We'll see if insurance will pay any of it as it wasn't an emergency.
I am very thankful for this location. I've taken my husband there several times due to very high BP. They are very professional and my copay covers it. I would much rather go there than sit at Kingwood Hospital ER for hours in the hallway. My last experience there was awful.
GO imaging has gotten more expensive also. I needed a MRI after my fall and discovered that was not a "walk-in" there anymore and very expensive. MH imaging at the main Humble location was much cheaper and faster. Years ago before they became GO, they were the cheapest around.

We just left there. Will wait to see the bill later. Grand had X-rays, cat scan, wound cleanup, 7 staples, and knee immobilizer. Fell at school and cut open his knee pretty bad. They were very professional and not hectic like hospital ER. No waiting.
Just fyi, was going to take my son to MH urgent care by HEB for a ct scan. My part was going to be 1700 & they were going to bill ins for a total of 7k. Absurd! We went to SimonMed by the hospital & my total was $430. I noticed they do walk in xrays as well. MH charges like its an ER/hospital. Ive used it several times & its come in handy but it is not cheap.
