buffaloglenn : The bark under the snap looks... off. Is that tree sick? Peculiar that one broke and other ones around didn't 🤔

nouser : No, it wasn't sick as far as I could tell. The line below where it snapped is just from it not snapping evenly. They don't snap like a perpendicular saw cut, so it's kind of jagged.

nouser :
It is not the city's responsibility unless it is on city property.
If the easement is on private property, it is the responsibility of the property owner.
Centerpoint should start billing the property owners and their insurance companies for the cost of repairs .

buffaloglenn : I know that, the bark pattern on the lower part of the truck way below the break looks inconsistent. The photo is really low res, maybe nothing?

dac1842 : The power pole? Or the trees surrounding it?

The utility companies need to use their political influence to get laws passed that prohibit trees within 100 feet of a power line.
Then give property owners 90 days to clear the right of way

dac1842 : Are you a power company lobbyist?? That would be LITERALLY impossible, not to mention the environmental damage. Global warming is already creating too much heat and storms and your idea would just contribute to it.

20 years ago, KW was literally a liveable forest. Now it's more like the liveable woods. Land developers are already removing acres of beautiful, mature trees to put up new condos and shopping centers all over the Kingwood area. Hence, MORE POWER LINES.

Nope not a lobbyist, I am way to honest a person to be a lobbyist, politician or lawyer.
You don't solve a problem unless you attack the root cause.
Then and only then can you develop the proper corrective action.

The trees are the p property owners responsibility, the poles belong to the utility company

Maybe I'm naive, but why would it take 7 days to dig a hole, stick a pole in and attach the wire back to the top?

For the discussion regarding Easement Maintenance Responsibility: basically, it depends on what is defined in the HOA bylaws and the Property Deed. For Trailwood, I am not sure but regardless, it is probably something we should know.
