I hope everyone is alright. Although I feel bad this happened, I don't have much remorse that it did. Be willing to bet that one of them ran the STOP sign, again and got hit. I travel home almost every day that direction from work and I couldn't tell you how many times I see some ******* run the stop sign trying to cross 494 onto Hamblen. Not everybody is a good judge of speed and this unfortunately is the outcome.

oldarn : Yep; as usual bad drivers, which no amount of lights or stop signs can fix.

buffaloglenn : That is a fact.

They can put a light there and adjust the timing for rush hour traffic, kind of like the lights at Hidden Pines and NP. More time is given to the NP traffic as opposed to Hidden Pines. Of course there will be those that think they are entitled and run the light anyway. For those that do, God help them.

bigcity : Exactly. The drivers on the feeder usually are driving too fast and the cars trying to cross the feeder at Hamlin don't have a far line of sight down the feeder road. What looks like open lanes second can turn into a no-go a second later. Feeder traffic needs to slow down and the crossover traffic needs to stop taking chances by trying to beat the feeder traffic.

sweetie : That is true. I saw the markup and map online. It went to a residents meeting and FC residents were opposed so it was scrapped.

Lulu45 : I call a polite BS on your comment. They did not design the roads but they sure did nix the proposed solution.

I'm confused. I guess I don't know where this is. I have taken the 59S feeder to turn left on Hamblen to get on the 59N feeder. Never have had a problem or 'almost' had a problem. Where is this Devil's Triangle you speak of?

buffaloglenn : How about rumble strips a little further south of the intersection like they do at toll booths for example. Along with some signage, that could be a quicker band-aid until a better one gets decided on.
