KingwoodDotCom : We don't need another grocery store!!! So many beautiful trees are going to be lost...again. When we lived in a Rockport Tx HEB was not allowed to remove any tree with 8"+ circumference. They had to build around it. And they did. So much talk about flooding getting worse in this area. Guess what?! Cement does NOT absorb rain or run off water. Really. No kidding. 4951

....Oh my goodness, ya'll, I cannot believe that ANOTHER HEB is going in, especially with the HEB right there in Kingwood so close by, the one in Atascocita, and both surrounded by multiple Krogers and Aldi's and Randalls and all of the additional cement surfaces..... ....Wow.... .....We have an old-school Albertsons here in Carlsbad.... ....And a Wally World (Wal-Mart)..... ....And I'll tell you, I very much appreciate having the natural surroundings here instead of just brick and mortar everywhere you turn, and to be honest, ya'll, reflecting back on the multiple floods throughout the years there, with the vast firsthand knowledge that concrete does not absorb water, not to mention all of the monies spent and paid out for repairs, replacement, rebuilds etc etc, I don't call that progress.... ....I call it greed..... Edited To Add: And what about the critters and animals who live in the woods, who eat, live, and thrive in the woods.... ....And people wonder why the Coyotes and Wild Hogs and such are invading their neighborhoods - why - because their home and natural environment is being destroyed - where are they supposed to go....

herron1345 : I told you you'd love it there. That part of the country has a unique beauty if you can appreciate it. 4951

Cam123 : Cam123 : They can just plant more. Or do like Singapore or Japan, integrated soil pits into the side and roofs of buildings and plant trees there. 4951

I'm up in the front and currently go to both Kroger and H-E-B. HEB doesn't carry everything we like so I will still go to both. I actually may still use the HEB in the back. 4951

So, what do you think about H-E-B filling the gaps between their stores?

KingwoodDotCom : Having just moved from the 494 apartments, I certainly would have used this upcoming HEB if they'd been a couple years earlier. Kings Crossing HEB was 20 minutes away in mild traffic, really annoying to get to in evening traffic, so not typically worth the drive. 494 Kroger got the vast majority of my grocery dollars; would have been split with an HEB nearby.

The recently announced, long awaited Porter/New Caney HEB will also be around a 25 minute drive away from this one. Seems like reasonable distances apart; much farther apart drive time wise than the 494/Northpark and Valley Ranch Krogers. (1314/99 will be relatively close to the Spring area HEB on 99, but that's a toll away and far less convenient for Porter/New Caney).

I'm more curious about how the apartment market is going to end up, what with all the Kingwood area ones planned and the 2000 units(!) total eventually planned for Valley Ranch. I hope decisions aren't being based on occupancy rates that were skewed by Harvey. 4951
