I am shocked to see how many others are dealing with the "brown water" issue. I have been dealing with it for about 3 weeks and it seems I had the same issue last year. SWH 4951
I watched KPRC Channel 2 News at noon, and they alluded to a 'brown tap water' story that they are working on for the News at 4pm... Didn't say what part of Houston, but I'm guessing that's us. 4951

This is a message from Isaiah from myfox 26 who is investigating and questioning people about the situation.
Regardless if they say it's going to be fixed don't sit back and wait if your water is brown call 311 and DO NOT drink the water. Too many people claiming to have gotten sick recently with stomach virus aND I am suspicious that it's the WATER. Council Member Martin is aware of the water quality issues affecting Kingwood residents at this time, and our office has taken a proactive approach and has been working closely with Severn Trent to help find a solution to the discoloration of the water that is being seen. According to Severn Trent’s Assistant Manager, Graham Beisel, a contractor is currently onsite trying to isolate fire hydrants which is contributing to the issue. Due to the calcium buildup in the lines, sediment is working its way through the system causing residents to see brown water coming from their faucets. We have been told that crews are in route now to flush the lines, and are hopeful that this will be a long term solution to providing clear water. At this time, the water is safe to drink, bathe with as well as to cook with and there is no need to boil. Should residents continue to see any discoloration, they are encouraged to call the city’s 3-1-1 helpline or our office at (832) 393-3008. I live in Woodspring Forest and I had this problem a few weeks ago that lasted on and off for a few weeks. I called the city and a few of my neighbors also did too and finally got someone to come out to fix the problem. Took about a week before the water turned back to clear. My suggestion for you and anyone else having this problem call and report it, the more that call the faster they get out to fix it. I never found out what it was they just told me the flushed the pipes. Hope this helps :-) 4951
If you call the city they will come check it. Sometimes the water need to be drain out and cleaned. 4951
I'm in Mills Branch and back up to West Lake Houston Pkwy. Having same brown water issues. Called 311, COH water, and Dave Martins office. They all say working on the issue but water is safe to drink. I would love to see them all on the 5'oclock drinking a tall glass of this water. With the rate hikes and as much as this happens they should offer some sort of credit to our water bills. Might be time to make some calls to local news. 4951
