It seems pretty clear the vehicles were in motion - otherwise the cyclist's feet would be on the ground.

Real sad people are still arguing back-and-forth about this. 20+ pages...unbelievable. Going outside and taking a walk in the rain would be better than this.

If the cyclist is breaking no law, then how is the story one-sided?

As I said on an earlier post, I think taking the picture of the woman was uncalled for.  The OP should have just described his problem with her darting out into traffic and there was no reason to publish her picture.   This idea of public shaming people has a dark side and it has become all too common.  Unless I am a missing person or committing a crime I object to you using my photo for your forum entertainment. However, what was lost on the TV reporting (naturally) and on Facebook folks is that this is a community of bike riders.  Generally I think this is a very bike friendly community..I am an old granny and still pedal around here and only meet friendly faces on the trails that we are so blessed to have all through our community.What I took from the posters is that the concerns are not that she goes in front of the cars while on her bike and trailer.  It is that she pulls out in front of moving cars while going fast on her bike and also buzzes unsuspecting walkers on the greenbelts. It had nothing to do with snobbery or looking down on her because she was not waiting behind the cars.  It was about the hazard she was presenting to herself, her children and to others by her unsafe practices. I wasn't a witness to any of it so I have no idea how safely or unsafely she rides but her rebuttal seemed to defend her stance that she could ride how she pleased and was confrontational.  I realize that is natural when put on the defensive and she had every right to be angry after her photo being publically displayed, but an acknowledgement or agreement to be more aware of others might have been a more positive approach. I think it is great that she pedals her kids to school and more power to her in that regard.  It is clearly something she is passionate about and gives her exercise and is a wonderful option that helped her also solve a problem.  I hope now she will use a little more caution when entering traffic (the helmets for the kids and the flag on her bike were a step in that direction) and yield to pedestrians.   There is plenty of room for all of us in this beautiful community that we are fortunate enough to enjoy.
