The extreme violence in movies and TV is applauded and encouraged. Executions aren't extreme violence. Executions are simply penalties for extreme crimes. It appears most people are in favor of courts handing down verdicts and penalties, but they want to forget everything and move on. Few would actually watch an actual execution. Executions are a deterrent to future crime, especially for the person being executed. Today's population appear to be a bit mixed up about reality. Sex and violence is fine on TV regardless how realistic or extreme but don't aire anything actual. Anyone found guilty and capital punishment is the penalty likely won't have actual judgment carried out for 20 to 30 years. By then the actual crime is basically forgotten and public "outcry and concern" becomes the latest verdict. Personally, I don't care if executions are carried out in full view of the public. I'm not in favor of "humane" executions as preferred by most. The more violent and deadly and sure the method is, the better. I'm in favor of 50 caliber at 10 yards...cheaper, less drama, and efficient. Save euthanasia for a beloved pet.
