What is happening to the price of Bluebell at Kroger? Never seen

Only buy Blue Bell when on sale, which is not very often. They lost most of my business during the listeria thing many years ago. MO it is still the best but HEB runs close enough for the cost.

I only buy Blue Bell when it's on sale now, and even then it's too high sometimes.

When I buy ice cream I always get HEB's brand. Blue Bell priced themselves out of my basket and I like HEB brand better now anyway.

I have some kind of loyalty to Blue Bell.
Maybe because it's a Texas brand from a small country town.
Maybe because I took my whole Cub Scout troop to Blue Bell Rd in Brenham, Texas (37 years ago) for the Blue Bell tour and they were over the top nice.
I know HEB is a Texas company also so my loyalty may be unreasonable but, it is what it is. When I want ice cream, I don't even look at other brands or the price.
I buy Blue Bell.

BB has been overpriced for a long time no matter where it's purchased. Because of that I haven't bought any in over a decade.

Cbear : We haven't bought BB ice cream in years. HEB is as good (or better) than BB, especially in their Swoon ice cream line.

CaffeineFree : I don't even think it's close. Ice cream is my achilles heal and we typically throw in a quart (no more gallons) with each HEB order. Price aside, I'll take the HEB ice cream over any other ice cream HEB sells. That lemon cookie stuff is dangerous.

They should just charge 20 or 25 dollars a gallon or even 50. Bluebell allows these ridiculous prices at the grocery stores. Never paying 9 or 10 dollars either. Kinda like Blue bunny now. See ya Bluebell.

Cbear : I agree, since moving to the back and using HEB regularly, I much prefer their Creamy creations to Blue bell and haven't looked back.
