Your Dad had to have been a military pilot. They have always been the best pilots! So many of the new kids don't have the experience/ backbone that our military guys have. We miss them!
I told my children that when they went to college, if they went and didn't change majors at least 3 times, they didn't go to college. They listened.
Barbrandy, Chickadee and LittleTexas reacted He was not a pilot his dad signed the paper for him to go ( I still have it)WW2. He was very good at Morse code so he was a radio operator on supply planes mostly in North Africa. He learned to fly as a kid on a plane his cousin bought for 200 dollars. They would hook it to a bull to get it airborne… Both my parents lived adventurous lives … but I went to college … 😊lol.. I'm just an RN .
Are your Mom and Dad still living? I would love to meet them! You are NOT just a nurse!! I had two roommates in college who were getting their nursing degree. I also have been steering my parents through life as they approach their 90's. Being a nurse is difficult, but being a great nurse who has a heart for their care is a gift from God! We have been very blessed!
My parents struggled financially most my childhood. We often faced food scarcity or inconsistent housing. That led to my determination to do something to try to avoid the same when I had children. Very different outcome for my children.
No they are deceased but every good thing in life I have I owe to them.. Nursing was very good to me I practiced in 5 states and overseas for over 40 years. All their advice I did or didn't listen to was right and they were morally the very best people they could be and I've ever known!
So you are probably my age. Life has been good! So nice to look back and appreciate the parents who raised us to be what we became❤️
I never saw a counselor in high school or college for myself. I saw a high school counselor to ask a question and then tell her she was incompetent. That wasn't concerning me.
Yes, Father and Uncles. Have many skills and educate yourself. Multiple incomes is best and do things you like to do.
Barbrandy reacted I hear some career counselors are good, My experience is that most are not. I deal with them frequently under a different job title. Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors. Mechanics trying to fit square pegs into round holes using old technology. I am opinionated about that.
There was no option other than going to college and at least getting a bachelor's degree. Business and law were my focus since my sophomore year in HS. Left my home school and enrolled in the HS for Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice for my 11th and 12th grade years then straight to college. Worked in legal departments and law firms from high school until last year.
