I will add, be sure to have handrails installed. I worry about your vision and slipping. Showers are the #1 slip n fall for older people.
My bathroom is rather small, so no, it stays warm. Idk if the bathroom is big and drafty, that could be an issue. Ive never thought of that.
frosted glass would be best. we have a high content of calcium carbonate in our water, and it causes those 'white' stains on shower glass. Some cleaners Seem to get rid of it, but it always comes back, unless you fully dry the glass, after each shower; it's a PIA
The new glass is so much better from what I am told. I opted to put glass back in, I just plan to keep up with it and not let it get out of hand. In the process of a remodel now and dang lots of delays!!!! I am guessing another week at least for me...

My shower has on shower door. It is a large shower and butler loves it. I am a bath person.
Absolutely put in grab bars . They look very decorative and may save your life from falling.
I had this great idea to remove the useless spa tub and increase the shower and make it open, with glass bricks for the divider, put a bench seat in there...
Then the guy told me basically $40,000 and I gave up that idea.
I could travel all over world three or four times on that dime, and I'd way rather do that than waste it on 3 guys knocking plaster and laying tile in my bathroom for a day.

#msg6030968I have a question about shower doors . In January sometime we will have our garden tub pulled out and standing shower out in . Cleaning houses for 7 yrs I'm dreading that . So my question is do you use a squeegee ? I was thinking frosted glass ? Does anyone have an opinion ha ha ha on the doors ? I always had shower curtains ,
My sister's dh is often cold, too. In the colder months, she has a small space heater that sits on the counter ( she got it at Home Depot), so she will turn it on a few minutes before he gets in the shower, and close the door of the bathroom, and it is cozy and warm for his shower. Her little heater has a timer, though she always sets an alarm on her cell, and goes in to make sure the heater is off, and the floor is dry, etc.
#msg6031083rocklady2024 : Depends on how many people are in the showerβ¦.
