#msg6025128MissAmericanPie : I love the people who used to come to the door, and say "...your neighbors just bought a box of steaks from us, and we have one left. they said you all cook out a lot, would you like to buy it?" Oh yeah, which neighbors? "ummm, the people in the corner house" Oh, you mean the Boyd's? Yeah, yeah, the Boyds! Oh great...well, the Payne's live there, Not the Boyds...get off my porch!

I get a text like this at least once every day. I would question why they would need to give me an estimate if the tree removal was (supposedly) free. Lol
Good idea! I don't answer the door to Anyone I don't know, or I'm expecting, but they came up on me, as I got home from work. Not really a good idea to be creepin', but I did see them walking up, so they got a Very small amount of my time

I get texts frequently that say they'll be in my neighborhood doing work, can they come by, blah-de-blah. I report it as spam, block the number, and delete. But the texts keep coming.
The callers act like they know who you are, then ask you to verify your address. I tell them 11850 Jones Road, Houston, 77070. The swear at me in foreign language and hang up. Usually, they ask for David Crocket or Lyndon Johnson. Have been getting a lot of medicare calls these past few days asking for Ernest Hemingway. I have fun with telemarketers. And I tell the burial benefit people I have my own Hefty bag already.
