That is very true. I would not have liked it as a family outing, especially with young kids. I went with friends.

Going early is fine, with younger kids. There is a small stage, and different groups of musicians play there; my grandkids Loved the music and the players interacted with them, too. We all had fun. They give a nice discount for First Responders, but it can get expensive. As we left at about 2pm, people were really flooding in, so our timing was great.

That sounds fun! I didn't have the disposable income when mine were little to go. I have only gone as an adult just paying for me

Before all of the bigger buildings were built, and Coca Cola,at the time, began to sponsor it, tickets were very inexpensive. In fact, Eckerd's ( Yes...Eckerd's!) gave out discount vouchers at their registers, and my kids got in free, while I paid about $10 for entry Emoticon So, way back then, it was something a single Mom could afford. Of course, it was not as large, or did not have as many acts or things to do, but it was still a fun day Emoticon

I like to go once the weather gets cooler. If you can stay for the fire show at the end of the night it is worth the wait.

In the past, I just dressed as a peasant. I am going as a woodland nymph this year. We will see how it turns out. I will try to get a picture of myself alone.

I would feel out of place not dressed up at Ren Fest. Last year I had to stop at HEB for sunscreen on the way. No one even have me a second look, lol.

I have agreed to dress up for the Miller Theater event on Oct. 30. I am not sure how many will be dressed then. It will be a good practice run.

wmubronco : I love it! Maybe ask your neighbors if you could borrow part of their yard. The grandkids would love it!
