We moved to Porter 16 years ago because of Northpark and the traffic. Never regretted the decision.
I'm avoiding that entire area even the businesses till the whole thing is completed. I will just go a different way North Park doesn't exist to me. I like Kingwood Dr. way easier with easy escape routes just for me. I know them all, lived here for 50 years. Dang I'm old now.
Texasdad : Thats a shame, even with a flat (granted I needed new tires anyways) I am still frequenting Northpark. Those businesses are already struggling as is, the taco spot next to DQ I am there every week.
I think they need to extend Russel Palmer so it meets with KW Drive, allow people to go around all that junk...it would make KW drive more congested, though. I remember years ago that was the plan, but I don't recall what stopped it.
Joe : with the closing of the bank and the shutdown of the firehouse, it would make sense right now.

Chow : It seems they have been a major hindrance with the whole project. Didn't the original plan involve the RR going over Northpark, but the RR vetoed that idea?
QueenB : I just try to avoid that area as much as possible while all the construction is going on. I feel really bad for the businesses along there, though I'm sure there are ways to get around it. Hopefully it really will get done in that time frame and there won't be any more delays.
QueenB : Considering how long it took TXDOT to complete 494 from Lowes to The Kings Mill light, the current NP/494 timeline doesn't surprise me at all. TXDOT engineers don't seem abide by the Prior Proper Planning Prevents Poor results.
