cardinalsong : This has been my question as well. That area was a nightmare at drop off and pick up times for decades. I think I read where the old building held 500 students. Can't even imagine another 300 students being brought into the area….even if half of those are brought in by cars. I feel for the homeowners in the area. I understand they knew they bought by a school but I don't think new buildings should accommodate more than the old. Someone correct me if what I read was wrong.
Inside the New Foster Elementary, Community Gets First Look at Rebuilt Campus Families, staff, retired educators and community members stepped inside the new Foster Elementary School yesterday during a well-attended community open house. Visitors toured both floors of the rebuilt Kingwood campus, getting a closer look at its larger classrooms, updated technology, enhanced security features and modern learning spaces. The school also features a rooftop garden and room for up to 800 students. The tour offered an early glimpse of what students can expect when Foster Elementary opens for the 2026-2027 school year August, next month.

sheltielover : You are right. But I worked at Foster and it had the least congested arrival/dismissal compared to the other schools I worked at. I also heard through the grapevine that it will house the students of the next school rebuild. Willow Creek is sinking. And other schools are in really bad shape.
cardinalsong : sheltieloverThey might be doing the open enrollment model that KMS is doing. Currently any kid in the district can go to KMS whether you live in the area or not. You basically just have to apply to go there, pay an application fee, which I believe is something like $500 a semester, (but I could be wrong on the price,) and then if you are accepted, you can go there no matter where you live in the district. I have no idea if Foster is going to have the same model, but I have heard rumors it might. Again I have not verified anything. It's just rumblings. I have heard. It could be why it's so big.
