Where was this on the HAR site? I have never seen, and I'm currently looking for a new home. I told my realtor I don't want to entertain homes that flooded.

SpaceCat : I have never seen that future on HAR. It's good you told your realtor you don't want to look at homes that have flooded. Even though, You still have to ask them if the home you are looking at flooded. I think they should have to list it on HAR and it should be in every listing.

And the real estate sales people wonder why people are losing trust in them. May as well buy a used car from a tote-the-note lot. Those guys are just as trustworthy as a real estate salesman/woman.

cbear : Sometimes I feel Houston and surrounding areas are somewhat looking like Chicago and New York with all the 4 and 5 story apartments and all the multilevel townhomes side by side.

Yancy : I don't want that in Kingwood!

billcherie2 : One way to check for yourself is to download an app like My Elevation from Google Play. Find the high water mark from HEB or Torchy's and take readings, noting how far above your phone the high water mark was. Then take a reading at the house in question while standing on the first floor. Work out the math and you will be pretty close to your elevation compared to KW flood stage. Note that some houses flooded due to inadequate drainage for severe rain events, even though they were many feet above the high water mark at Torchy's. Our street in SWH had several flooded homes even though we are about 14 ft above the high water marks at HEB and Torchy's. The curbs at Woodland Hills and KW Drive retained about 6" of water that backed up into several streets to the west of Woodland Hills and flooded several houses.

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : So far it has been on the disclosures. So, unless the owner is lying, the disclosure should way whether it flooded or not.

SpaceCat : Yes, The disclosure should say if the home flooded. The problem with a disclosure is if the owner passes away and the kids sell the property they may not know or remember if the home flooded. I would think they would know but maybe they just would not remember. At any rate, I think it would be great to have a way to find out for sure if a home flooded.
