I hate they charge a huge fee to pay online. Most charge 2.something%. On $3,458.00 that is an extra $69.16.

How much do you suspect that you pay extra per year for the 'convenience' of using your CC?
MissAmericanPie : I paid online on my IPad. However, I called them, got a live person and had her give me step by step directions. It took way more steps than I probably would have figured out. Definitely not user friendly!
TEXASGIRLMAMMA: It's because they're(County) making money on the spread between what they charge you and what the credit card company is charging the county. And that fee is based on the transaction amount.
Harris Co Annette Ramirez tax site truly blows. Trying to pay my property tax online and it only lets me get so far before it stops responding. You put in all this info and when it comes time to select a payment method, nada. No prompts come up to actually allow you to chose credit card or e- check. It's already annoying they charge you a fee to pay…🙄.then it doesn't work. I am on a large iPad so I decided to try it on my laptop top. The lap top worked. But really if all you do is accept online payments, at least tell people you need a specific device to do it. And have a pop up telling people there is an issue with using a certain device so you know. So basic. Ugh. Rant over.
