southernmama5 : I understand you are wanting privacy. It's important for her to be strong what is right is right and what is wrong is wrong. She needs to know the word gaslighting if anyone try's to minimize the situation by changing her words or rephrasing what happened to her differently than what happened to her. She needs to say that is not what happened, let me repeat myself. When people want to dismiss something to not make it their problem, they try to change how the person remembers it. She needs to write the names of the students if known, what they were wearing, what they said, who assaulted her in what order, what time it was, what was said before she forgets it. As time goes on the small details get blurred. It's for her benefit as assaults go to court. It's not something to take lightly. She needs to ask for the footage of any nearby cameras on vehicles or corner stores etc. If you or your spouse have access to an employee assistance program please call them to connect with the counselor for her or you all. Those services are usually free.
