12:35PM Special Weather Statement National Weather Service At 1231 PM CST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Simonton, or 7 miles southwest of Brookshire, moving northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Katy, Sealy, Brookshire, southwestern Addicks Park Ten, northwestern Eldridge / West Oaks, Spring Branch West, Hockley, Wallis, Fulshear, Simonton, San Felipe, Pattison, Cinco Ranch, northern Weston Lakes, Addicks, and Memorial.

This cell to our southwest is pretty nasty. As of 12:45, it's trying to stay on a track that would keep it NW of Kingwood. We'll see if that plays out. We need rain but we don't need the severe stuff. 🌪🧊🌬

cbear : Not actually sure we'll see rain out of this round. These are discreet supercells, not a solid line of storms.

Hook echo on this cell. Tornado warning likely to be issued. Tower cam on 99 in Cypress shows a lowering so this is definitely something to watch. This should go to our northwest.
