I just signed up for a Medicare supplement that gave me a gym membership. I told the lady " My gym has 4 legs, we to 2 -3 miles a day!" She took off the gym membership and my premium is $8.00 less! Every penny helps!
RaggedyAnn and Kittle reacted I do wall pilates, and there are also a lot of floor exercises, you can do at home, each day. Lots of free videos on YouTube, and I got my stretch bar exerciser at Five Below, for $5! No less than 30 minutes a day, 4 times a week. I do go to my son's and do free weights at least twice a week. You can go to any gym and get a great workout; others being there to stay healthy, get in shape, transcends age!
I believe Fitness Project offers a SilverSneakers class. The FP I go to usually has about 30 seniors and is always packed. I normally go to a different location but I know there's also one in Kingwood. I try not to watch others work out but the room is directly in front of one of the machines I use and has glass walls. It seems like they do low impact exercises with chairs, light weights, resistance bands, etc. They seem to enjoy it. It's super cool to see so many seniors in the area staying active, being social, and often continuing their workouts after class.

I retired in June and have been going to Planet Fitness in Kingwood. I've seen everything from 15 year olds, looking perfect to 70-plus people there. The other day I saw a couple come in and the wife was using a walker. I worried about what people would think of me at first, but believe me, younger generations are looking right past us. We are invisible to them, which is a plus!

I regularly see people in their 60s, 70s, and 80s at Fitness Project on North Park. I'd dare say 25-30 percent of the folks there are seniors. We've been going there since mid summer and everyone seems to be friendly and non judgemental. Most just keep to themselves, and it's clean and we'll kept.
