Covenant Preparatory School (Hamblen Road)

Yes, this is by all appearances...a mess. Forest Cove has a POA. It is unclear right now what exactly has happened. Hoping to hear from residents who were able to go to the meeting. I do know 1 owner whose property is right by the church/school who received no notice about an expansion. Others have posted the same. The traffic is already a nightmare. It is hard to image several hundred more cars dropping off/picking up and traveling through the neighborhood. The potential traffic impact on the neighborhood and what/how this came about should be a concern for all FC residents.

There are issues.
The separation of state and church, groups' freedom to gather to practice their faith, and probably more.

Why?

asasolid2r : Yes. They bought the building by KPHS and some land as well.
It didn't work out for them. I wouldn't worry about the traffic, the school always stays around the same enrollment - has a hapless history with expanding.

I knew some parents that purposely hid their kids in Christian schools for sports. We did not. My DS was the youngest in his year. The other parents held the child back and reintroduced them. Not saying this is happening now at your school…After all they did…None of these kids had an offer or a true relationship with their family. ❤️

In the early 2000s a basketball powerhouse at their level! They were decent in baseball.

They had an unparalleled coaching staff that should never have been found in such a small school.

YLMarks: wow! That is a big increase! If this happens, the school needs to implement a better pickup line strategy and route.
