Wallpaper, Everywhere. Remember?

justanirishgirl: It depends. Heavy duty paste causes some consternation. Most all of the paper manufactured for the last 30 years is classified as strippable even though the backing is still glued to the wall.

luannski: By straight on the drywall, do you mean the walls weren't primed and/or sized? 😂

Wallpaper is making a comeback, but I am seeing a lot more of it just being on an accent wall rather than complete rooms. They have priced themselves out of people being able to do complete rooms anymore. And it really looks cute if done in the right way! But I am not sure I want self adhesive wallpaper. it seems to me that isa it is made to be removable, it might just decide to remove itself at some point. I think I want to decide when the paper comes down.I am also seeing it on walls that have wainscoting and even on the ceiling! I am not a fan of that unless you have a really tall ceiling.

I lived in a duplex in Austin, right after college. Cool little place, with an amazing, huge screened in porch. The tiny (!) bathroom was offset by this porch, that was the envy of everyone I knew. Had a nice UT prof that owned the duplex, and lived next door. He allowed me to put white wallpaper with frogs in shower caps, in that bathroom. White bath rugs and shower curtain, and it was the Cutest room, Ever! I moved out after 4 years, and the people that moved in said they Loved the bathroom decor, too. I also painted a 'rug' on the cement floor of that screened porch. The landlord liked it so much, that I traded him 3 months rent to do the same, on the porch, on his side. Best bargain ever! :D ( the rugs I painted were similar to this pic, but peach, soft green, subtle but BoHo. Peach was THE color, back then )

Thank you; painting big canvas to match a person's decor or wants, doing sorority and fraternity gifts ( paddles, keychains, wall plaques), cute motifs on walls of babies'/kid's rooms, and more, paid for college!
