Last week, they were saying they needed a quality starting pitcher. So, they get a utility infielder, a shortstop who will convert to third and an outfielder. The day isn't over yet but I'm worried they won't get what they really needed.

Staples : you are mostly right. That 5 innings Uncle Charlie Morton is gonna give the Tigers every 5 days would at least cover the loss of Gusto.

Staples : I read 18 of our top guys are injured/rehabbing.
eighteen : down to 16, will be 15 if Pena returns tomorrow. Of the 15 only about 7 or 8 really matter to success in 2025.
Ticagro : I use to love going to see the Astros when daughter had a suite. Company gave it up and I haven't been back since.
kan0406: I think bringing him back was a mistake. Correa is and always has been injury prone. He's had numerous ankle injuries in his career and it has greatly affected his ability over the past couple years. 2) In his MLB career he has never played a position other than SS. 3) the Astros will inherit a ridiculously high $ contract with him. 4) With Dubon and recently acquired Urias the Astros had two capable replacements for the injured Paredes.

They have 3 more expensive years of him and not exactly a ton of open places to play him. You're not moving Pena off shortstop for him and Paredes is a better overall player than Correa at this point. Jim Crane wants to hug himself of those warm fuzzy memories of Correa and that's his right as the owner but it never seems to work well when he makes baseball moves.
