The world is not same as it was in the 80's. I am glad the officers stepped in. Hanging out in a neighborhood setting with friends is different than wondering a parking lot for hours on a busy street alone.

what is an acceptable amount of time to allow a 9 year old child unattended?

I remember that ,it was a different time then,not as many crazies .

Remember taking the kids to the mall, and telling them to call when they were ready to come home. They always had money for the food court, and a dime for the phone. Sometimes would not get the call until 8:55 pm

SarcasmWins: My kids were never dropped off at mall just to hangout. To buy clothes, other necessities or maybe see a movie, yes. And we always had an agreed upon pickup time and place.

I never dropped my kids off at a mall. I was with them until they could drive.
