This is a general question why is the weather so difficult to predict the intensity around here? In the Midwest they can predict things earlier and more accurately. Just wondering if the environment here really makes it that much harder to predict.

I've never lived anywhere else but I've researched a little bit on why storms go around us so often. (Its either feast or famine here) apparently, living near a large body of water (like lake Houston) can effect the weather so I imagine it would effect forecasting.

That's definitely a topic I need to do more research on.
