cbear : We've passed by there hundreds of times, but never checked it out. Partly, it's because my DW doesn't like spicy food (she thinks ketchup is spicy!). Plus, I'm usually concentrating on that stupid 'S' curve in that area.

cbear : We haven't been there since it was IQRA. It was a bit dark and crowded with product as I recall, but clean and very interesting.

GiggleMugs : I was in there when it was Iqra (about 3 different times) and I had a very uneasy feeling and it smelled funny.

Perelandran : Do they sell Halal meats? Halal is actually pretty close to Kosher. The animals must be raised and slaughtered humanely. Also the meats are generally grass fed.
Imtiaz Restaurant & Grocery on Ford Rd - tonight I got takeout from Imtiaz, Pakistani halal place on Ford Rd. Very good, and huge portions! The guy in there is super nice. I decided to try the beef gyro wrap (delicious, lots of meat) and the chicken biryani dinner. The biryani was easily enough for two adults with big appetites. The flavors are INTENSE. I like Indian food, and this was comparable to the spiciest Indian dishes I've ever had. Not just heat, it's all the exotic flavors exploding in every bite. Impressed. Will get takeout there again. Hidden gem.
