Mandevilla -- right place, right time, right price!

Donnawisdom : Mandevilla is beautiful. I saw that its original price was $17.95 and Walmart's prices are usually good to begin with. I guess that Walmart got a message from headquarters to clear out those plants fast, a new supply of something is on its way! $5 clearance stickers were being slapped on and plants sold fast, fast, fast!

Smoothwaters : All different colors! Could you post a picture? I've love to see those.

Nice score. I wish they were cold hearty. We lost 3 of them in the 2021 freeze.

Grimmie : Yes, finding that Mandevilla in my garage where dd#2 had just unloaded it was a delightful surprise. Also a delightful surprise is that dd#2 intends to do all work involved with planting it in my oval garden.

CaffeineFree : That's a good warning, thanks! I'll be on the lookout for a large box or something to put over it if/when a damaging freeze like that comes our way.

You will need more than that. Put some strings of lights on them as well. I stopped planting them because I always lost them in the Cole and they were not just $5

MissAmericanPie : I have not even thought of growing Bleeding Heart or seen them in someone else's garden. I've seen photos of them, though, and they really are graceful and beautiful.

Donnawisdom : Good idea! But strings of lights these days are all LED cool lights, aren't they? Can you still get old-fashioned string lights that provide that needed bit of warmth?
