Smoothwaters : The man that used to own that fancy restaurant flooded during Harvey. He and his wife lived upstairs in our house while they remediated theirs. I didn't live here when they owned the restaurant and only found out about while they stayed with us.
CaffeineFree : I remember the opening of WLHP across the lake. I used to waterski the lake and river.
Movie theater where Aldi is now. Saw Star Wars there. Blue Marlin Inn Humble across the San Jacinto from Forest Cove. Log Cabin on 59 going towards Houston.
Bullman : I miss Log Cabin.
Smoothwaters : Our family moved down here in 1988, so I remember some of the places you have mentioned. My grandmother lived in the apartments where HEB is now and loved seeing the ducks. I remember that Randall's was across the street where the fitness center is now, and some of the restaurants that you mentioned as well.
Smoothwaters : Does Los Cucos ring a bell with anyone as the restaurant that is now Vision Source. The architecture of the building suggests something Mexican?
GiggleMugs : that building also has a drive thru window. I thought I remember it was a taco bell, closed, and a new one opened.
Smoothwaters : There was definitely a restaurant where the Eyewear is now located. I think i remember they served alcohol to minors but can't put that at 100% fact but that tickles my memory.
Do you remember that kind of five-and-dime general store in what is now the Painted Tree shopping center? I think it was called Winn's? It was near Alspaugh's in its original location there. It was so handy for when the kids needed something like school supplies. Unfortunately it also sold pet mice and cages, which led to a long series of rodents as pets in my house.

goldie : Yes, I do remember that toy store. There used to be to be gift place next to the old CVS. It had some really neat stuff not like household items but fun merch and tshirts.
Boston Market where Fuddruckers is now .
kingwooddiscgolf : Boston Market was where McD's now. McD's bought the Boston Market chain and eventually converted most of them to the parent brand. That was about 2000.
Smoothwaters : And remember the toy store that used to be next to jewelers bench? And a children's clothing store in the center on WLH next to the new car wash?
