Good luck picking your place to eat. The real question is how many hours do you have between picking him up and having to dropping off at the airport. That will perhaps narrow down your search.

- Rumi's Kitchen near the galleria for incredible persian food.
- Taste of Texas for a steak. I love their lobster too.
- Azzurro in the woodlands for Italian.
- Perry's for a pork chop or bananas foster.
- Toulouse for French in river oaks.
- Uni Sushi in the woodlands for sushi or Dough Zone downtown for xiao long bao.
- I'm really not a Mexican food snob, I like it all. Titas Tacos has great authentic tacos. So do taco trucks. Papasitos is good for Tex mex. Fajita Jacks in Conroe if you want a lake view. Local mom & pop owned are good. You can't go wrong.
- For Cajun, either crawfish from somewhere with good reviews (we like mud bugs and refuse to support swamp donkeys) or Papadeaux. Brennan's is good but definitely not Cajun. Papadeaux is good for what they are.
- Triple J's BBQ for BBQ. It's not fancy or in a great part of town but it's the best BBQ in the whole world.

For coffee I'm on a 7 Brew kick. A banana bread blondie with caramel drizzle & cold foam is coffee heaven.

We could be twins separated at birth. I don't know all your places but many are just what I would say too.

I am a Hugo's fan for the birthday boy. Sad that brunch would be over too soon but I do question having to fly shortly after a heavy meal. I think I would skip Mexican/TexMex.

My son is coming to Houston this weekend for a business trip and I have a small window of time to get together with him Sunday afternoon before he flies home again. I'll be picking him up at the Doubletree Hilton at Greenway Plaza and would like to take him somewhere to eat before dropping him off at the airport. This is also his 30th birthday weekend. Can anyone recommend a good place to eat in that area for a mid afternoon meal?

bb1976 : I have as well, but that is clear across town on Bissonnet, in SW Houston. The ask was between the Greenspoint and the airport.

donnatella: The ask was for something close to Greenway Plaza. And Cleburne's is close to Greenway Plaza.
