Two older men clearing out underbrush on Kingwood drive at Woodl

It is the Livable Forest not jungle... I am fine with the underbrush going.. It can actually choke out the trees... I do want the trees to remain as long as they are healthy...

Does anyone remember the man that would pick up trash on NP on Saturdays? It was so nice to see him and he did it for a very long time.

Smoothwaters : He is still around - mostly does his work early in the morning.

The city should take care of this. If one of these older men has a heart attack, who is responsible?

It would be good to cut the vines growing up on tree trunks.......parasites to the trees growth and health. Cut out a section of vine...the rest should wither, die ..........and eventually fall off the tree.

Thats why do not see him. He is a KW angel for doing it for so long. It is just unfortunate there is so much trash that needs to be picked up.

Volunteers need to be careful....along KW Drive, the center has depression....(a ditch) that can harbor snakes.....pests...........need to wear boots....leather work gloves...heavy denim genes....bug spray to minimize health hazards.

I don't understand why the folks that live along west bound Kingwood Dr. (houses that backup to Kingwood Dr.) don't clean up the overgrowth of shrubs and ?? whatever else it is. There is a lot of growth coming over the fence and while it is not blocking anything it is very unsightly. I would not want that mess in my backyard.

All I know is I went out once with my chainsaw, grey jumpsuit, and protective hockey mask and tried to clear some of the encroaching vegetation once and it did not go well. Sure, maybe mistakes were made. Maybe I shouldn't have been doing it at 3 am and when the cops got there maybe I shouldn't have waved Hi at them with the hand holding the chainsaw. Let's just say good intentions can pave the road to Shawshank.

Realitycheck : Seriously? They could have a heart attack driving down Kingwood Dr. Or anywhere else. We appreciate the work.

Bsmith3drdesign : I'm glad they are clearing the underbrush. No one else is going to do it. Our trees are being smothered by all the vines in them.
