The urgent care on WLHP by Kings Crossing xrayed my broken wrist and set me up with a cast for $260. It's amazing the difference in prices outThat's where there. They do a good job. The same doc has been there for years.
I have had CT, CTA and MRI at Memorial Herman Convince Center. I called the Memorial Herman imaging appointment line. I did not go thru the ER and was only charged from imaging costs. The ER is separate from the imaging center. My co pay for an MRI is $30,00 and CT's $20, also for X-Rays. I have a really good Advantage Plan thru my husband, he retired from IBM.
DO protest that with your insurance! Save the appointment info you were sent; date, time, location. If it was on your computer, print it out. This Proves you were Not there for emergency services, or seen as a 'walk in'. I had to do this when another clinic charged high, and my insurance said I owed $900, as 'my part'. I settled on $400, Total, and had them write me an email that the charge would cover Any and All expenses that incurred with 'invoice # 24677'. I also wrote a check, and in the bottom left, wrote "paid In Full, invoice #24677". When they cashed the check, that constituted their accepting that as Full payment. They can be shady; you just have to lay down the facts, and explain that you Have documentation. Erghhh, sorry they did this to you all; it is very stressful.

We'll see if insurance will pay any of it as it wasn't an emergency.
That's great for your Mom. Companies of yesteryear provided incredible retirement packages that current companies don't provide. Employees were loyal and so were employers.
It's always been an ER. My son worked there before he moved. I would rather go there than the big one in Humble, the wait time is so long.
if your insurance only pays $2k of the $10k charge, who pays?
I have used CareNow on Northpark. I paid a few dollars co pay and my insurance paid the balance. I was pleased with the doctor there.
