cbear : cbear : I'm in Sand Creek. Trying to pay yearly HOA and Trails assessments on line to KSA is so ridiculously complicated that it's hilarious. I want to tell her that 1976 called, they want their online payment system back. Trying to sign in had me instinctively waiting for the dial up handshake connection to begin. I'm surprised she's not still using AOL or Prodigy. You have to sign up with some backwater out of state fleabag S&L type bank, create an account with login and password with them, sign on through there, try to remember the password format that they demand you use, and on and on and on. From the looks of this outdated ridiculous system, I assume they still accept Bank Americard and Diners Club as well. You just can't make this stuff up.
Ticagro : Why don't you just drive down to the office and pay it. Much easier.

If you think Sterling is bad, try dealing with the woman who owns KSA. She seems to believe that we all bought houses here solely to provide an income for her and her business. I have no issues with the HOA fees and the trails fees. It's all the add-ons that she herself charges that are pure profit for her and that she absolutely refuses to answer residents questions about that boil my blood. Want to buy a house? You'll pay her. Want to sell a house? You'll pay her. Want to get a mortgage? You'll pay her. Want to refinance? You'll pay her. The fees involved are ridiculous considering the mere minutes it takes her to accomplish her duties. If you ask her to explain the basis for her fees in writing she will absolutely refuse to answer in writing, clearly to avoid leaving a written record of what she said, and if you push the issue she will totally ignore you. If you refuse to pay her fees until you get an explanation, she will start foreclosure on your property and the legal fees for the pitbull ambulance chaser lawyers she immediately sics on you will total thousands of dollars PER WEEK. She's an entitled disgrace. Read the Google reviews. The entitled arrogance is amazing.
Yep, I go up there and pay and demand a receipt with the correct date on it. You can't trust them.
Unfortunately/Fortunately it's part of the price of living here. However it is best that you and a few like minded neighbors attend all of the HOA meetings. The boards are very clickish and non responsive. To make a difference, it needs more than one or two homeowners to attend and participate at the monthly meetings.
However most of our community is infatuated with DC & national matters.
Ticagro : Please explain, How does she get anything from us buying, selling, or refinancing a home? It's been 27 years and I don't remember.
ExCTGuyInTX : I have attended them and ....they pay you no mind. It is a greedy clique. I have a neighbor(s) who are big into this crap!!
KSA is local and has a vested interest in our community. Complain all you want, but know that with each flood / freeze / hurricane, they are there to band the community together since they represent so much of it and to get Kingwood back on its feet. There are people who work in that office who give their career to keeping Kingwood a nice place to live. I seriously hope that communities in Kingwood stay banded together for local representation. Think about what makes Kingwood different - clean trails, shared HOA ownership in a boatdock, maintained medians, East End Park…. You may not like her and it can be fun to complain, but having dealt with multiple management companies, they do their job well.

cbear : I never WANTED to attend. People are busy. We want the HOA to do it's job. We shouldn't have to show up to get them to do what we pay them to do. If they followed their own little handbook (especially the clause that addresses all neighbors shall maintain their lawns to community standards) what a joke.
