Hard freeze next week
I've noticed over the decades that forecasters very often overestimate how cold an airmass will be in early forecasting, only to revise warmer as the time comes closer. Thus, I don't put alot of stock into forecasts about how cold it will get 10 or 20 days out. However, there have been those exceptions, and those have usually been associated with the "polar plunges" that we're looking at here. Getting older, I am finding it harder to cope with the cold that I once loved... but after a super hot summer the year before last and a generally balmy autumn/winter so far, I must say a blast of cold, for a bit, sounds attractive.

Hard freeze next week Heads up that we could be in for an arctic blast next week - anytime from Jan 6th-12th. Exact timing is still uncertain. American and Euro models are showing lots of teens and even single digits in Texas. These could go up.....or down. This DOES NOT look like another 2021 Arctic freeze setup but teens in SE TX is still freaking COLD. 🥶🥶🥶 Time to start thinking about some "just in case" hard freeze preps.
