I totally agree about not staying here. This has been the straw to break the camel's back for me. Even though I love my house/lot, I'm moving closer to one of my adult children after this.
Thank you!!! I love your attitude. From time to time DH and I have considered and looked elsewhere but always end up deciding this is the best place. It's near family, convenient, reasonable economy, and it is home.
I moved to Texas to be closer to my daughter and her family. As long as you're near them, that's all that matters.
Just hung up with my daughter, she's ready to move too. There's gonna be a mass exodus out of Texas.

Jnet : Props to you for self advocating and making hard choices for your well-being! I'm sure it's incredibly daunting to think of picking up and moving your entire life (or at least it is to me!). Go you!
I am from Houston originally, and I think I'm getting okay to leave, too. 🤣 My parents moved to Luling a couple years ago to be near my grandmother, and my oldest kid lives in Austin, so with all this weather craziness, central Texas is looking better and better!

When all this settles down, my husband and I are going to sit down (with a large margarita) and decide what we are going to do after the last kiddo graduates next year.

A lot of people whom I have spoken to are considering the same idea!
5000 credits sent! smokey545 tipped Jnet 5000 credits for a post in this forum discussion.
FYI for those considering the Hill Country. There are substantive water issues there. The aquifers from which most water is derived are running really low. Similar to our issues with electricity across the state, the boom in population growth cannot really be serviced by the resource availability.
Thank you for the info. Am kinda used to that from living in SA and reliance on the Edward's aquifer. Good info to pass on. -Jnet
