jv339 : They looked fine. Just the usual 2 fire trucks, four police cars, and 16 wreckers to drag off the carcasses.

Doesn't look like a grass fire.

Heard it was a pile of tires. Which would explain the smell.

brerich01 : I saw that too, but I was hoping for more confirmation. If the tire shop was irresponsibly burning tires out back, it makes sense that it got out of control. It was really windy yesterday, and it was super dry this past summer. There are dead trees everywhere.

It was trash that contained tires. Probably something people were dumping. The oil in the tires was causing the black smoke.
