the two times we ate there were good experiences for the money paid (comparing to El Tiempo prices)
Ordered basic -- tacos el carbon and husband had fajitas. but now that we are in Omaha, believe it or not we have found several Mexican restaurants far better than those we frequented in Texas--especially the amount of protein in their tacos!!!!

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : Went there a year or so ago. It is a nice place and the food looks great. They have some very different things from most of the neighborhood restaurants. But, overall, I would agree with the bland characterization. We enjoyed it and said we would try it again, but we haven't been back - so I think in retrospect it didn't make a lasting impression.

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : I've often wondered about that place. I think I will save my money. Thanks.
Heathur : No, it is not. Have you been to the one on 1314? If so, was it good?

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : No I haven't. I see it often though and was wondering if it was any good lol
They used to be a run-of-the-mill restaurant that catered to the local Mexican community. Food was good to average. Then they went through several iterations between restaurant, restaurant with bar, sports bar, karaoke night bar, and back to restaurant/bar. At some point during those transitions the focus on food (ingredients and recipes) gave way to "cheap" and secondary to an ambitious "more than standard Mexican restaurant image" they were chasing. The only decent food left (at least a year ago) was their breakfasts - and their overindulgence on canned and frozen supplies ruined that too.
