>> Is someone on this thread getting complimentary meals for posting positive reviews? It does happen folks!
I'm with
teatime on this.
I much prefer the BBQ from the truck on 494, (lu lings maybe, i can't recall) but i do like Dickey's fried okra, and it's just frozen. Wonder how frozen okra would turn out in the air fryer, hummmmmmm. 4951

No I know
sweetie is a picky eater. Â You can't even imagine! Â Â No way she would give a good review unless she really liked the place. Â Since Church's closed down, I would imagine they have to go in and really clean the place. Â You can't open up a new place until you pass inspection. Â So the time to go would be right when they open.I can't imagine the franchise allowing anyone else to open up that close. Â Maybe they can because on is in Harris Co and the other in Montgomery Co. Â But man that is low ball the company is playing. Â Both will need to step up their game if they want to stay in business. Â We have a lot of cheap clean places we can eat at here in Kingwood
Â
I have been to the one in the front of KW, when they switched owners I belive because lady was telling me they had just took over and had been in the freight business prior to. Obviuosly no restaurant experience. Who talked them into putting cash into something they had no experience with.In general, it irritates me that BBQ has began to demand a high price if you will. I had a client in this last week that wanted some so I looked up some places over at 45 & 1960 and a few listed a "chef" where does a chef belong in a BBQ restaurant. Guess that is how they charge so much. We ended up at Corkscrew, and pd darn near $20 per plate 4951
I have never been to the current KW location and will prob never go. I don't do BBQ often anyway. Not sure we need a 2nd one, but maybe it will be busy. Who knows. 4951
Its great that another store is opening. Â I understand the kingwood dr location is not happy, however that store has to be the worst dickeys store. Â I quit going there after it was repeatedly out of product. Â Like others have said a gas station food store is gross and generally not a good mix, at least for me. Â Hmm love that gasoline and smoked brisket aroma, I have been to that gas station it is not exactly a buccees. Â oh well best of luck and maybe some competition will help the other store get its act together. Â 4951
In my opinion, Dickey's hardly qualifies as BBQ.
I will still drive to Tin Roof, Spring Creek or Mo's. 4951

I hope Skeros opens their BBQ place where Shipley's was and destroys them and they are forced to bring Churches back 4951

BBQ has gone up along with the price of cattle - moved in tandem. Saying that, it is a tough business. The food is expensive, and what Dickey's does makes it harder, having fried food on the menu along with BBQ instead of the sides that can be made and kept refrigerated like cole slaw and potato salad. Anything fried has a very short shelf life. 4951
