Some of my favorites at Pappasito's are the fajitas, chicken Tinga enchiladas and Baja fish tacos. 4951

I use to love Papasito's.  But they brought in new tiny tables a few years ago, and 2 people can't even order fajitas at them.  So I no longer go there.Lupe is leap years ahead of the places mentioned here, for quality of food.I don't get enchalada's there.  But their ribs are flat out to die for.  Their pepper shrimp, omg.  Their grilled shrimp, again to die for.  Their shrimp tacos are the best of anywhere, hands down.  I like their fajita's.  Their barbaccoa tacos.  Their quesidello's (sp).  Their Carne Asaida or just their Carne.  The chicken lupe is amazing.  They have a gluten free menu, as well as a vegetarian menu.

Fallon: I always forget to go to Lupe and you would think I would remember since my friends dad is the manager..lol.  Next time we have some extra money and are going for a night out will definitely have to try them.  A few years ago I had them at a party and even the catered was delicious now that I think about it.

Don't overlook Pueblo Viejo (in Porter) at Loop 494 and 1314......I love their food and the place is nice, clean, and the staff are attentive and authentic.......and I'm a mexican food-aholic and picky about tastes.  Try them out - if you are in the back of K'wood, you can get there via the "back route" Ford Road to 494......quick cut through without having to get caught in traffic on NP..... 4951

I'm still hoping we get a Torchy's Taco out here when the new HEB opens.  Their tacos are great.  4951

Annie: Thank you for clearing this up.  It is so hard to keep up especially when I don't go to Kingwood Dr very often.

magnoliamam: We tried going once a few months after they opened because a friend told me the food was good.  We drove around in the parking lot and out by the street for almost 20 minutes and couldn't find any place to park so we left. We have never gone back.

Pueblo's is ok, expensive, if I am paying that much, i want pappasitas, pappasitas seafood enchiladas is AMAZING! as is most of their food and salsa, just expensive.  Good for date night or something special.  Las Palamos on NP by Golds gym is not very flavorful, but i am told it is "authentic" and does have the tex-mex that most of us enjoy, whatever, i didnt care for it.  The poor thing that compared El Ramchero to Pappasitos, bless your little heart, like comparing a banana to a rotten apple! El Ranchero is one of the worst in the area.  I am a local and I still love Little Mexico, or Monterey House as I grew up knowing it.  One thing is forsure, whatever your tastes are, there is no shortage of Mexican food, taquaria or taco shack to fit any budget or tasteEmoticon God Bless Texas! 4951

If I'm out and about I like to hit a Gringo's when I can. Their food seems to be very fresh tasting, more than the places around here.  They have not wised up and put one in this area, yet.      4951
