The flower bed at the entrance to my subdivision (point) had trash in it long enough for the printed labels on the containers to sun bleach out, eventually the trash disappeared into the weeds. My wife and I watched it for over a month just sitting there before they finally did something with it. Good work keeping up the grounds guys! 4951

@MTechnique: My HOA can go to he//. My street looks like the dang ghetto and I have called and called and called... They get paid for doing *nothing* to enforce real violations, yet I get a letter if I leave my trash can out for a few hours. Now they want their $$$ for dues. Really? I'm going to call the news to go to the next association meeting with me. Maybe something will get done. Seems like the only way anyone does their actual job these days is when the news is involved. My absolute favorite was last year I got a letter from CAM demanding I clean up the trash droppings at the base of my driveway.Waste Management always parks at the base of my driveway, collects all the cul-de-sacs trash cans, and dumps them in the truck at the base of my driveway.Almost every single trash day I or my wife have to pick up after them. Its a bunch of little stuff, but its pretty annoying day after day to pick up after them....Then to get a letter from CAM? lol... come on. CAM entered into contract with WM, you have NO CHOICE. Oh, and for those that don't know CAM just renewed the contract for another 5 years. 4951

I have picked up trash that was thrown by ill-mannered drivers who think it their right to toss out garbage from their windows.  It has nothing to do with CAM...it has to do with us, as residents, who want to keep our community looking clean.  CAM did not throw it there.   4951

topcat: I love the quarterly letter we get that show the violations they helped with.  I drive up and down the neighborhood and see all the cars and trucks parked in the road and wonder exactly what good sending violation letters did.  Don't get me started on the weeds or garbage.

TXCheri: I know CAM didn't throw it there. I work 50-60 hours a week. I don't have time to pick up other peoples trash. If you do, by all means. THANK YOU.That said, if I'm forced to remove trash and weeds from community areas on CAM's behalf I expect to be able to deduct my hourly wage from the dues CAM feels they earn.I feel that ought to be perfectly reasonable. I mean if one of us (homeowners) doesn't mow out lawn and CAM does it, you know they'll send you an insane bill for the service....topcat: Don't get me started on the vehicles blocking the streets everywhere while driveways sit unused. The work vans & trailers are just awesome looking.

I want to move out of Harris County as well, but I still like Kingwood. Its a hard choice, where to go. IF I was living a lone,,, I would move to Spring area.... but with kids, I would say Oakhurst would be good for kids. Yes they will go to New Caney, but I have not heard anything bad about that school.  4951
