Even America's favorite President was known to do the same when he was in office. I suspect Noem is an environment where such a thing is normalized to say the least. Her actual quote is, "This APPEARS as an attempt to kill or to cause bodily harm to agents, an act of domestic terrorism." Appears was what she led with. It probably did appear that way to her at the time. But she could have waited more than 30 minutes after the incident to be confident that such a phrase was something she really wanted to own.

And you are correct that inflammatory comments are made on both sides.

And it contributed to the situation getting out of hand. I believe it is at that point that she began to feel fear.In the future sometime there will likely be civil actions.
