It changes my mind not one whit, as my political opinions don't come from nor are shaped by groupthink.Further, the way I see it, things are running much BETTER as compared to the last four years. Is it PERFECT? Heck no, never will be, but it's about a 99% improvement.

SisyphusAgain, literally no one is claiming they don't have that right. It is a non-issue. I'll attempt to summarize my views as a closing remark on the issue and will turn it over to you. I don't want to exceed my self imposed quota of daily posts on this forum if the discussion traffic is now just down to the two of us and if you're just going to continue arguing against a point no one is making. But I'll be glad to respond to anyone else if it appears further discussion is warranted.There are examples where sidewalk protesting can advance a cause but the effectiveness depends on context, execution, and goals. The most effective historical movements that rose in the past featured public protests embracing unifying issues that could easily earn public support when access to more viable forms of communication had not yet been invented. Their success was also due to clear messaging strategies.We don't see that anymore. We see poorly planned, ineffective strategies that lack focus, and fail at successful visibility because they choose locations that fail to connect with broader audiences and are more likely to irritate people driving by (because it is a busy vehicular street corner) rather than locations better suited to build coalitions and influence power structures.Note to future protesters: - Choose areas with heavier foot traffic rather than heavier vehicular traffic. Such a location is inherently more socially engaging when passers by are more likely to have time to converse (as we do on message board forums). - Also focus on issues. It's not inviting to read an array of social security benefit cuts, immigration laws should not be enforced, AND vague emotional expressions of outrage like "No Kings!" If you can focus on issues, be ready with evidence to back up those views. - Stop lying as part of your messaging. If you're going to expect your fears to become ours over cuts to social security benefits, be ready to identify the legislation and the language that cuts those benefits. And if you're going to express that fear every single year about Republicans wanting to cut social security benefits and never have clear evidence to back it up, then be ready to acknowledge that the only party that has succeeded in taking the lead on the only cuts that have happened has been Democrats (as was mentioned earlier in this discussion). When it comes to immigration, stop lying to us about your villains hating immigration and immigrants when your villains are merely in favor of lawful behavior and enforcing the laws on the books. If you're going to pretend to oppose King-like behavior, don't expect us to remember your silence on the authoritarian mandates that occurred under the last administration and properly conclude that you don't really oppose authoritarianism. It's just selective outrage.
