Kid on black e-bike crossing Kingwood dr at west lake Houston parkway. He almost met his maker. He was in full speed crossing during an active stale green light coming from the fountain heading north on west lake houston. Kid has kinda bigger curly hair and e-bike was a little big / tall for him.

he had a green light, but it was quickly about to change? my bet is he had no helmet? those scooters are no match for a car or truck; car wins.

The saddest part is a child will be injured, or worse.

I don't mind the e-bikes at all. I do mind them wearing dark clothing on a dark bike crossing a dim light intersection near dark. I almost ran him over. He screeched his brakes in the median between inbound and outbound lanes.

I've had one riding along in front of me decide to turn left. At least teach your child hand signals. I had to brake even though I was a cautious distance behind him, he cut across so fast. I worry our town will have to deal with a tragedy due to e bikes one day and this saddens me.

Bsmith3drdesign : i've been saying for a long time now there is going to be a death, they are dangerous. They are illegal yet they are everywhere. it's even against our own city code to be on a motorized vehicle under the age of 16.
Unfortunately the rider is not the only one riding across public streets with these e-bikes or e-scooters.

I am considering an e trike rather than a mobility scooter. I can still pedal so in order to be able to exercise outdoors pedaling on flat ground but with help for slopes sounds great! Their speed is very limited. The problem is that it seems I can't go on the road, nor can I ride on the greenbelts so how is one supposed to get around? My heart yearns for bike lanes.
Wingsofwonder, Kittle and Cinderz + 1 more reacted I am with you. I would love one. If a regular bike can be on the road then why not an E bike? If I get one, I'm going ride it where I want and follow the rules of the road use hand signals have a light be responsible. As a driver, I know how annoying it could be to be behind someone on any kind of bike or motorcycle and then being unsafe and selfish.
