Wouldn't be awesome if a private developer swooped in and purchased a large wetlands area NOT for expansion but for preservation? Like this guy....Swedish multimillionaire Johan Eliasch purchased around 400,000 acres of Amazonian rainforest in Brazil from a logging company for $14 million, solely to conserve the forest.

kingwooddiscgolf : Yes, it is the same person -- Ron Holley. He is a developer/architect that has been associated with Kingwood for many, many years.

He seems to love floodplain property and developing for million + homes in those areas while living away from the low lying areas himself.

BobRehak: Why isn't there a law preventing development in flood plains. Building permits in these areas should be restricted. When things flood, we all pay in taxes to correct damages.

What amazes me is that people will buy those houses that are built on that land and the government will allow the building permits to build said houses 🤦‍♀️

Apartments are the least of the problems. Think of the price our home insurance is going to go up when it all floods.
