That is surprising! We have been ordering from Hunan for many, many years and it has always been top notch!

Well, I ordered lettuce wraps and got wings (I don't eat meat on the bone). The chicken in the cashew chicken and wonton soup has sinewy/fatty pieces. I dumped it all.

I am not going to order there again. The last time we got stuff it was terrible.

Chinese food is such a subjective cuisine! One person will love the food, another calls it inedible. I like good, basic Chinese food; house special lo mein and such. My kids like spicier dishes, and something unusual. We all still enjoy Hin's Garden in KW

I've never had issues with their food. Always good.

I find their food adequate. Far from real good Chinese food. I do find them overpriced, however.

Is the main Hunan Garden on the 59
Feeder road owned by the same family? Ate there a couple of weeks ago and it was fine. You must be careful with Chinese (cooking).
There's another Chinese place up in the Porter megalopolis on the south bound 59 Feeder road that I, personally ,wouldn't take a chance on.

Teatime:We have never ordered from Hunan Express however Hunan Garden on 59 is consistently good. General Tso's chicken is our favorite. The lo mein was a bit disappointing as we expected noodles instead of spaghetti.

Yeah, most American/Chinese places don't bother trying to make authentic lo mein. We used to go to a Chinese restaurant on the east side of downtown where they made their lo mein from scratch and served greens from their own garden.

Cl1974 : WOW, I am sorry you were disappointed. What did you order? We have never once been disappointed in Hunan Gardens whether we got takeout or dined at the restaurant on HWY59. We have been going there for 27 years. I am always impress they still have so many of their employees from way back then. We love the General Toa's, Chicken Lo mein, Chicken Fried Rice, Happy Family, and the House Wonton Soup. I hope you will give it another try some day.

We got takeout from them last night and have always loved their food. However, last night it wasn't good. I don't know if it's a new cook or what changed but it was definitely not the same quality as we have always had. Disappointing because they are our go to and have been since we moved here ☹️

There's one on 242 in the Woodlands that makes their own called Dumplings and Noodles- it's good

The last time we ordered from the one in the old HEB Plaza. They wanted to charge for packets of condimeonts. My DW said oh no! We haven't ordered since.
