PSA for folks driving through Forest Cove this weekend...

I saw there was a lot of trash outside and wondered if they were moving out.

I have to drive that way this afternoon. what is the name of the street south of walnut, and does it go all the way through ?

The street south of Walnut is Magnolia. The one north is Mistletoe. Both go through to Butter Cup and you can turn towards Walnut and cross on into Kingwood.

jrw2017 : Walnut is a mess at the best of times. Yard guy trucks. garbage trucks, construction trucks., etc., all make driving on Walnut challenging at times.

This is true. But this morning it was solid cars on the south side of Walnut from the stop sign all the way back to the drainage ditch midway down the block. As soon as someone turned from Forest Cove they were obstructing westbound traffic - and, crucially, had no way to see that someone was coming until they made that turn. This made for an unprecedented level of mess. And that's at 10AM when there wasn't much traffic....
I was halfway through the mess headed west when three cars turned into Walnut. Damned if I was going to back up for them. And they didn't seem inclined to backup either. So we crept past each other with my tires about half off the pavement. If I was in something bigger than a Civic - no way we would have been able to pass and there would have been an impasse...

Do you know what happened to the Cunninghams? I've driven past for years and enjoyed their seasonal decorations. I did not know them, but there were so many treasured things on the estate sale site that I wondered why family did not take some things like the coin collections. I hope whoever buys the house will celebrate like the Cunningham and their neighbors across the street.

I don't. I'm not acquainted with the family beyond living in the same neighborhood with them for a few decades. I also really loved their holiday displays and often waved to, I presume, Mr. Cunningham when driving by. There was a post on Facebook a couple of months past that he had passed. I've noticed people there doing a lot of moving and clearing for a couple weeks. Don't know if that was the family or if it was whoever is now running the estate sale getting ready for it - probably the latter. Forest Cove will be a little less than it was with them gone.

The husband passed away a few months ago.

My DDIL was on line at 9:15 for the 10:00 opening. She said she was probably number 20 in line. She got what she went for, yay! On her way out there was a woman who was in line and when she saw what my DDIL had in her hands, she threw her hands up in the air, and told her husband, let's go, and he said, we waited in this line for so long. The wife said, she got what I wanted.

I personally wish they would put in some speed bumps that would pose a serious threat to peoples' suspensions if they hit them at over about 5mph - not like the wimpy speed humps on Palmetto... But the fire department would have a fit over that one, so it ain't going to happen.
