cbear : I'd like to see the actual manifest for those shipping containers. Both those chemicals are imported regularly into the US for numerous purposes. If these were destined to Sinaloa, then the Port of Houston would not be ideal. There are direct shipping lines from China to West Coast Mexico (Manzanillo) that would have been much easier. Just curious if they will provide the manifest. I went to the DOJ site with the original announcement and it was vague. If in fact, that was the final destination, then good.

cbear : It wasn't the site. It was actually on the Pacific Ocean side. It was seized off shore and consolidated in Panama and diverted to Houston.

I don't care how big and how rich the cartel responsible for this is, $569 millones de dólares is gonna hurt.

Ticagro : That is just estimated street value so it's not an immediate loss of money except for the cost of the chemicals which are very inexpensive. Just a delay for them but still hurts them.

cbear : Problem is they most likely don't sell us the chemicals to make Meth. They would make the Meth if they had the right Chems then sneak it across. We have all the stuff here to make it from what I've heard. They steal it and take to Mexico to make Meth there.

chasinghosts : I'm sure they can play with that "largest ever" claim. Technically it was not even a drug seizure but a chemical seizure so guess it depends what they are saying is the "largest".
