A.I. attack at Torchy's . The taco shop has gone to kiosk

FatCop : I hope they have a live person to step in for people like me. I will NOT do self checkout or kiosk anywhere! Sadly customer service is a dying art.

Totally agree with your last line. I will do self checkout with a couple items if the other lines are long.

I ate there for lunch today. I like the kiosks. I did have a little trouble with it not recognizing some of my taps on the screen though.

I was just recently watching the X-Files "reboot" (I know, several years late) and this reminds me of the episode where they ate at the fully-automated sushi restaurant and chose not to tip, so all their smart appliances at home started rebelling and harassing them until they left one.

I struggle a little bit to get used to those too. They have them at the HEB True TX BBQ and I have trouble finding some of the items I want to order. They are very helpful and friendly there, though.

I quit going there ages ago.
I couldn't hear myself think in there the acoustics were so terrible!

@CatalinaKitKat : I noticed that the last time I was there. I didn't attempt it. I was ordering takeout, BQ by weight, and wasn't confident about using a kiosk. Someone helped me right away.

Are you forced to pay with card or do they still take cash?
