IAH Ramp is closed

Hang in there. I miss all my former co workers but I don't miss flying on days like this!

Have you ever had passengers that want to get off the parked plane due to the thunderstorm?

Yes, and depending on the circumstances, it's just not possible to let them off without blowing a slide.

For aircraft connected to a jetbridge, yes, because there is no outdoor exposure. If it's a regional aircraft that uses the outside bridge to walk on, then typically no, as there is outdoor exposure. Although my implication was around the fact that ramp closures will delay the departing aircraft leaving the arriving aircraft on the taxiways awaiting the gates to open, which can go on for hours. People want off, we have no way of letting them off. Aircraft can't push, planes can't park, everyone is stuck waiting in the endless time continuum that is a ramp closure.

I'm guessing IAH has a jet bridge for every gate given our unpredictable weather.

ForestFinds :For the most part. Unless you're flying out of the B Gates (B1-B25 & B31) all have outdoor walk-on bridges. B26-B30 now have Jetbridges as of last year.

They actually asked everyone to deplane and then they reboarded after the worst had passed and the ramp was reopened
