New Rules Jeep Weekend

More than 400 officers from 14 law enforcement agencies are patrolling the Bolivar Peninsula to enforce strict Jeep Weekend safety rules this weekend as the new Sheriff is implementing new rules for safety reasons.

Sheriff Fullen shared the new safety measures on Facebook. "We look forward to seeing everybody on Jeep Weekend this year, but we also want to remind you that you need to follow the rules and obey the law," he said.
This year, several restrictions will be enforced in the designated Jeep Weekend event area:
- Parking on the beach is not allowed.
- Loading or unloading trailers on the beach is prohibited.
- Golf carts, ATVs, and dirt bikes are banned.
- Mass gatherings are forbidden.
- Glass containers and littering will not be tolerated.
- Stay off the dunes
- Drivers license required to drive on beach
- Speed limit 15 mph
- Animals must be on leash at all times
- Bonfires prohibited
- Regarding traffic, individuals are not allowed to stop, stand, or park along the beach or enter public safety zones. Traffic will enter on Honeysuckle Drive and exit on Stingaree Drive, with flow directed eastbound.

They Need some new rules! They are also hiring from other law enforcement entities in area Counties, for that weekend. Many open their expensive homes, for free, to accommodate those who do not live there, but come to protect. Emoticon

It was on the verge of becoming more and more of a 'short fuse' situation, with violence escalating. There was Actually talk of cancelling it, but they are hoping people follow these rules. I hope so, too! I do not go, but it would be sad to cancel such a fun event. Still, if people don't comply This year.....

I have a weekend house right there, and for the last 6 years, it's been a nightmare hearing the gunshots, the screams, and the loud bangs of head-on's all night. Plus, hearing choppers having to land all weekend. The armor shades are closed this year, and we are staying far away.

cbear : Blame Canada for that one. They started the trend of Jeep Ducking for Kindness during Covid.

Jeep owners "Duck" each other! I look for unusual duckies for my Jeep owning friend to duck others, with. Got her some Cute ones in FL this week , with ducks in snorkel gear, bikinis and Hawaiian shirts! Ducking is described as "kindness and camaraderie amongst Jeep owners, just to bring a Smile to someone else's face"!
