Escalate for best Mexican food. A big step above what we are used to around here. In City Centre off I-10. Fish dishes are EXCELLENT. This isn't just a taco & enchilada place. Family owned. Man & Woman are owners. Escalente.com

My son is coming to Houston this weekend for a business trip and I have a small window of time to get together with him Sunday afternoon before he flies home again. I'll be picking him up at the Doubletree Hilton at Greenway Plaza and would like to take him somewhere to eat before dropping him off at the airport. This is also his 30th birthday weekend. Can anyone recommend a good place to eat in that area for a mid afternoon meal?

bb1976 : I have as well, but that is clear across town on Bissonnet, in SW Houston. The ask was between the Greenspoint and the airport.

Bollo Pizza is in the conversation for being among the best in Houston and is near Greenway Plaza.
